Remember a couple of weeks ago when MJ tied laces while in therapy? Remember all the celebrating? Well today and every day after that celebratory moment has been downhill in terms of tying shoe laces. He hasn’t done it since that day! At therapy, Ms. E. Tried everything she could, to get him to tie it again😒. When therapy was over we just looked at each other and honestly, laughed. We both KNOW that he CAN do it! It’s obviously just on HIS own time. This is not to say that we are giving up. We will never do that. It’s now time to search out other motivations for him to consistently complete this task.

Awww that’s too bad, but don’t give up hope. DC did the same thing many times over – he would finally accomplish some task and then refuse to do it again (shoe tying, not being one of those tasks – he just can’t seem to do that. Thank God for Velcro). He would eventually do whatever it was again, when I least expected it. I think for DC anyway – all of the hullaballoo when he did something put too much pressure on him to do it again. He did it, like MJ probably will, in his own time and with no one watching 🙂

Bumbi can jump. Jumps all the time. Jumps to music. Jumps, jumps, jumps. Her physical therapist was doing her 24-month evaluation yesterday and asked her to jump. Do you think she would? No. She did a knee bend and a bounce but would not jump!!! But I know she can jump. I tried to get her to jump. Again just a little knee bend. Smh. Argh!

I’m right there with you today, it has taken us over a year and a half to get Reid virtually potty trained in the day but these past two weeks he has been purposefully peeing and pooping on the floor whenever he can. three steps forward, two steps back 😦
