He did it!!!! Though it was only for about 4 seconds, MJ RODE HIS BIKE?!?? Ahhhhhhhh (angels singing lol ππ½)!!! This was the first time since my last bike riding post that he was outside with his sister. We have been only taking Morgan out to ride so she can really be a pro at riding her bike. Yesterday, we decided to ask MJ if he wanted to try and ride his bike. We knew that we couldn’t force this on him. MJ would just shut down if we did that. He said “yes” and so we told him to get on his bike and give it a try. He watched Morgan riding slowly back and forth before he tried it himself (we told her to ride really slowly on purpose so he could see what she was doing). After some wavering and wobbling he was finally able to steady the bike and ride by himself. Once he did it, he was done! He wanted to go back inside the house. We didn’t mind. We told him how proud we were of him. I’m really praying he will want to try again soon. πππ
Note: We are in the process of buying new helmets. The ones they currently have are now too small.
So AWESOME!!!!!!!

That’s awesome!!!!!!! Yay MJ!!!!
My son was the same way – it took him forever, he did it, and then was immediately done. Almost two years later, he will finally, willingly, go get his bike and ride it around the neighborhood.

It took a long time for it to happen. We had to not push at all, just gently suggest it again every once in awhile. It was actually his best friend (neuro-typical kiddo) who finally convinced him to do it.

My son learned really slowly, but now he can ride around casually. He still wobbles, but he goes!

What a big deal, too! When my son stayed up for a minute I think we all went for ice cream! Good job!

That sounds awesome. Maybe I can use ice cream as a motivator. π‘π‘π‘
