Thought For The Day💕

There were many people that didn’t understand what we were going through in the early years with MJ.  I wish I realized back then, that they were not worth my time.

  1. You tell ’em, Girlfriend!

I have family members (In-Laws) who I have finally decided to leave behind. After watching My Kiddo grow up with lower functioning autism, they STILL don’t get it. They never will so–Ba-Bye!

  2. Amen! You have to surround yourself with people who will encourage you. Even if they’re not in your shoes, they still need to support you no matter what.

  3. So true…I remember when an early child educator who ran my son’s preschool listened to me rant about someone not getting my son….she told me that the best advice she could give me was that there are lots of well meaning people out there including family and friends but the reality is you need to hug and keep close the folks that you help you son move forward and lose the ones who are not. She told me it will be hard especially family and friends that you keep at a cursory distance but you need all your energy and patience for your family…not theres. 🙂

      1. I know that folks are trying to be understanding but I can personally only take so many uninformed comments. I am always open to anyone asking questions but I don’t like it when someone especially family doesn’t take the time to talk to us and then makes blanket assessment. i.e. “Wow he’s doing so much better isn’t he? It must be school.” Wow. I wish it was so simple. I think I have another post to share:)
